As a labour and delivery nurse, I noticed that we did not have appropriately sized hats and blankets for severely premature infants who were either stillborn or passed after delivery. So I asked my mother, Alys, to make some little baby blankets.
She then recruited her friend, Sheila, who is a beautiful knitter to make tiny hats. For over 13 years, Sheila and my mother provided these precious items for stillborn babies and their families in the Houston area.
In 2018 my mother passed and I know that she would be extremely pleased that Sheila and her daughter, Shannon, are continuing this special program.
