The second trimester of a pregnancy is considered the 13th to 27th week of gestation. The start of this term brings much happiness to pregnant moms as it’s usually the sign of being “out of the woods” and on the way to a healthy, successful pregnancy.
Unfortunately, there are some pregnancies in the second trimester that result in a stillbirth or delivery of a severely premature infant that does not survive.
This is devastating news for parents and families and means that labour and delivery are going to ensue. They are now dealing with the knowledge that their baby has either passed or will soon after birth.
We donate packages to the hospitals that contain hand made receiving blankets and knitted hats designed specifically for these small lives. The babies can be wrapped and presented to the parents after birth so they can cherish this special moment. Each package contains a poem to comfort the families during this difficult time and the package becomes a keepsake to help them grieve and to remember their child.
